Fire Prevention

It is the mission of the Elyria Fire Department Bureau of Arson and Fire Prevention to prevent the loss of life and personal property from the effects of fire. Administering fire codes and standards, conducting building inspections, and providing prompt detection and enforced compliance of code violations accomplish our mission. The Elyria Fire Department generally, and the Bureau of Arson and Fire Prevention specifically, accomplish this mission by protecting the citizens of Elyria through a decrease in the number of fires and the severity of those that occur.
